Who and Where

Chiara and Anna are family friends with a shared love of all things Piero della Francesca.

They are collaborating to bring a detailed program of study, adventure and art to Anna’s beautifully restored Casa Ezio Marchi situated deep in the Tuscan hills and the birth place of Piero della Francesca.

Chiara studied Art and Architecture at University of the Arts and University College London respectively as well as studying in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland on an Academic scholarship for her Masters.

Anna is an interpreter, translator and linguist of English, Italian and French and has extensive experience teaching traditional Italian recipes to students from her years running an Italian cookery school in the UK before she moved back to Italy to set up Casa Ezio Marchi.

Anna and Chiara are inviting a selection of practising artists to the villa to explore the site and host art retreats that reflect the local area.

Our first retreat invites British Artist, Carey Mortimer, to dive into Renaissance painting techniques including Fresco and silverpoint drawing; for a one week intensive hosted in the house, with outings to local areas including Arezzo; home of many Piero della Francesca paintings.
